URGENT CALL TO ACTION

Be heard on the pesticide ban


The draft regulations under the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act, 2008, released by the government on November 7th are completely unsatisfactory to Landscape Ontario and the professional lawncare industry. We need the immediate, active involvement of everyone in the industry to counter this proposed policy – you, your employees, suppliers, family and colleagues. The power of humour – Dec. 3

Chapter meeting will feature ‘The Power of Humour.’ It is a proven medical fact that having a good sense of humour actually reduces the negative effects of stress. Deb Loyd enjoys finding humour in every day experiences and daily interactions. She will share some stories and simple strategies on how to use the power of humour to overcome stress in your life and at work.






































LO This Week
LO present at Royal Winter Fair

Landscape Ontario, along with our member Townscaping, created several displays at the Royal Winter Fair, over the 10-day show. The booth was manned by LO and Canada Blooms staff and volunteers. Landscaping topics were presented several times on stage. Over 10,000 Garden Inspiration magazines were handed out along with $6 off coupons for Canada Blooms. Reach For The Rainbow – Nov. 22

Landscape Ontario will attend The Crystal Ball event on Sat., November 22nd at the Toronto Congress Centre. This is a major fundraiser to help integrate children with disabilities into traditional camps. LO is helping to decorate the silent auction area. Each year, this event attracts a high profile audience to raise over $1,000,000 in one evening. For more details contact info@reachfortherainbow.ca.
Course outlines erosion and sediment control – Nov. 27

This joint workshop being provided by Hamilton Conservation Authority and Conservation Halton is designed to provide information on the roles and responsibilities of contractors and regulatory agencies that operate in the Hamilton/Halton watersheds. These activities can include building construction, pool installation, earth works, and slope and shoreline stabilization projects. The course will take place at Landscape Ontario. Gardening TV

Congress 2009 is presenting a new marketing opportunity to all show exhibitors called Gardening TV. Exhibitors can promote thier booth and products to show attendees, using strategically placed flat panel TV screens on the show floor. For $500 (plus GST), a customized 15 second advertisement is created. Ads will air twice each hour on all of the 12 screens placed in high traffic areas throughout the show.
