| Smart about Salt training The Smart about Salt training program is set for Tues., Aug. 11, at Landscape Ontario’s home office in Milton. The training session provides an overview of the Smart about Salt program and all key aspects of salt management. You will learn about the environmental effects of salt; how to protect yourself from liability; the principles of ice formation and the science of salt; approaches and materials for snow and ice control; the importance of equipment calibration and the use of proper application rates; proper salt storage and handling; and how to use weather forecasts. You’ll want to attend if you’re in the snow business. Those who achieve the passing grade on the test will receive a certificate of successful completion of the Smart about Salt training program.
